As a general rule, you should always take into consideration your dog's size and weight. Our dog harnesses and collars come in different sizes to fit all different types of dogs, but if the size or weight range is not suitable for your pooch it will not be comfortable at best - or harmful at worst.
You should consider how much your dog pulls on the lead to look at whether you pick a dog collar, this is due to the fact that a dog collar has to 'sit' on the neck of a dog while a dog harness sits around the shoulders, putting less pressure on the neck. Dog collars should never be pulled tight, but you should check how loose or tight it is when fitted if your pup pulls strongly on them.
We offer a wide range of sizes to allow for this and you should refer to our Dog Harness Size Guide or Dog Collar Fit Guide
Dog collars can be a great addition to harness use due to the fact that you can attach the leash to the ring on the dog collar rather than directly onto the harness, but if your pup struts around with their chest puffed out, they might not like this. Dog collars are also great for quickly attaching identification tags too!
If your pup pulls too hard on dog collars, they could end up choking themselves. If you're not sure about whether your dog collar fits right, you can always rely on our 30 day returns policy, which is valid on all our orders, just ensure they are returned in their original condition with the tags still attached.
